| An audio recording of nineteen minutes and thirty-three seconds, transcribed, parsed, glossed and translated into Spanish and English in which Alfonso Aguavil interviews Pone1 concerning various topics concerning ‘janpeno’ or shamanism. (#6 of 6). Here they discuss characteristics that can be passed down through the generations by ‘jin’ or genetic inheritance. They then talk about various spirits and how only the ‘pone’ can tame and manage the strong spirits. This includes a discussion of the ceremony of the small mouth fish. He also explains why women ‘pone’ are much more powerful than male ‘pone’. There is a brief discussion concerning death and then he describes ‘pone’ songs, their relationship to sacred places and how they are used to obtain power and protection. | ||
