Description:		In this one hour video that is transcribed and translated into Spanish. Omare Yeti begins by recounting the history of her mother, Onkaye Okeñene. While trying to escape from conflict, Onkaye was shot by a colonist and then taken by a priest to a hospital where she was approached by the evangelical missionary, Rachel Saint. Omare then explains how her mother eventually found her family again and events centered around the early esbalishment of the evangelical mission. She then tells four traditional stories: The Boa; The Kiwiñamo Bird; The Clay Woman; and The Man and the Frog.
		En este video de una hora que se transcribe y traduce al español. Omare Yeti comienza contando la historia de su madre, Onkaye Okeñene. Mientras intentaba escapar de varios conflictos, Onkaye fue disparada por un colono y luego llevada por un padre a un hospital donde encontró con la misionera evangélica, Rachel Saint. Luego, Omare explica cómo su madre finalmente se reunió con su familia nuevamente y los eventos que se centraron en el desarrollo de la misión evangélica. Luego cuenta cuatro cuentos tradicionales: La Boa; El Pájaro Kiwiñamo; La Mujer de Arcilla; y El Hombre y el Sapo.

El objetivo principal del proyecto es registrar prácticas culturales que cubren una amplia gama de temas y contextos, desde rituales e historias tradicionales hasta conversaciones de la vida cotidiana. El proyecto también tiene como objetivo producir una base de datos que incluya un léxico. El proyecto recibió fondos del Hans Rausing Endangered Language Fund, SOAS, Londres, durante tres años.
		In 2011, the collaborative project Waorani started, involving the researcher Casey High, from Goldsmiths University of London, the north American researcher Connie Dickinson, and the young Waorani, Ramón Uboye Gaba, Inés Nemo Nenquimo, Meri Nenquihui y Oswando Opi Nenquimo as native documentalists. The main objective of the project is to register cultural practices that cover a broad range of topics and contexts, from rituals and traditional stories to daily life conversations. The project also aims at producing a database including a lexicon. The project received funding from the Hans Rausing Endangered Language Fund, SOAS, London, for three years.
		Wao terero es un idioma sin clasificación hablado por algunos 2,800 Waorani en la area de Amazonia occidental en las provincias de Pastaza, Napo y Orellana de Ecuador.
		Omare Yeti presently lives in Kiwaro but was born in what is now the area of Yasuni National Park. She is very knowledgeable of Waorani history and culture. Wao Terero is her maternal language, but she also speaks Spanish.
		Omare Yeti actualmente vive en Kiwaro, pero nació en lo que hoy es el área del Parque Nacional Yasuní. Ella es muy conocedora de la historia y la cultura waorani. Wao Terero es su idioma materno, pero también habla español.
		Oswando Nequimo nació en la comunidad Wao Toñampare. Sus padres son Tiri Nenquimo y Manuela Pauchi. Él es casado con Ima Bogenei y tiene un hijo. 		Oswando Nequimo was born in the Wao community of Toñampare. His parents are Tiri Nenquimo and Manuela Pauchi. He is married to Ima Bogenei and has one son. He has a high school degree with a focus on accounting and also attended the Universidad San Francisco de Quito. He is an expert in transcription and translation and also has training in video recording and the various computer programs necessary for carrying out a documentation project. Wao Terero is his maternal language but he also speaks Spanish and is literate in both languages.
		Uboye Gaba nació en la comunidad Wao Toñampari. Sus padres son Amo Gaba y Ñai Caiga. Tiene su bachillerato en contabilidad. Su pareja es Marci y tiene dos hijas. Él es fotógrafo y sabe grabar videos, hacer documentales y otros, además experto en transcripción y traducción y sabe manejar varios programas lingüísticos necesarios para un proyecto de documentación. Wao terero es su idioma materno pero también habla español y es alfabetizado en ambos idiomas.
		Uboye Gaba was born in the Wao community of Toñampari. His parents are Amo Gaba and Ñai Caiga. His partner is Marci and they have two daughters. He has a high school degree with a specialization in accounting. He is a photagrapher and is also knowledgeable in video recording, documentation and is an expert in transcription and translation as well as in the various linguistic programs necessary for documentation. Wao Terero is his maternal language but he also speaks Spanish and is literate in both languages.
