Description:		In this 58 minute long video, transcribed and translated into Spanish, Wiña talks about her childhood and early life and relates incidents of conflict and the arrival of the missionaries. She also explains events which led the Tageiri and Tarmenani to retreat further into the jungle to live in isolation. At the end of the recording she also talks about the making of ceramic pots and hongo chicha. ///
		En este video de 58 minutos de duración, transcrito y traducido al español, Wiña habla sobre su infancia y vida temprana y relata los incidentes de conflicto y la llegada de los misioneros. También explica los eventos que llevaron a los Tageiri y Tarmenani a retirarse más hacia la jungla para vivir aislados. Al final de la grabación, ella también habla sobre la fabricación de ollas de cerámica y hongo chicha. ///
		En 2011, comenzó el proyecto de colaboración Waorani, que involucró al investigador Casey High, de Goldsmiths University of London, al investigador norteamericano Connie Dickinson, y los jóvenes Waorani, Ramón Uboye Gaba, Inés Nemo Nenquimo, Meri Nenquihui y Oswando Opi Nenquimo como documentalistas nativos. El objetivo principal del proyecto es registrar prácticas culturales que cubren una amplia gama de temas y contextos, desde rituales e historias tradicionales hasta conversaciones de la vida cotidiana. El proyecto también tiene como objetivo producir una base de datos que incluya un léxico. El proyecto recibió fondos del Hans Rausing Endangered Language Fund, SOAS, Londres, durante tres años.
		In 2011, the collaborative project Waorani started, involving the researcher Casey High, from Goldsmiths University of London, the north American researcher Connie Dickinson, and the young Waorani, Ramón Uboye Gaba, Inés Nemo Nenquimo, Meri Nenquihui y Oswando Opi Nenquimo as native documentalists. The main objective of the project is to register cultural practices that cover a broad range of topics and contexts, from rituals and traditional stories to daily life conversations. The project also aims at producing a database including a lexicon. The project received funding from the Hans Rausing Endangered Language Fund, SOAS, London, for three years.
		Wao Terero is an unclassified language spoken by some 2,800 Waorani who live in the western Amazon area in the provinces of Pastaza, Napo and Orellana in Ecuador. Spanish is the national language of Ecuador. //// Wao terero es un idioma sin clasificación hablado por algunos 2,800 Waorani en la area de Amazonia occidental en las provincias de Pastaza, Napo y Orellana de Ecuador.
		Ana Gaba is the daughter of Amoa Gaba and Nay Caiga. She is married to Moipa Nihua and has four children. She grew up in Toñampare but now lives in Yawepare. She is fluent and literate in both Wao Terero and Spanish. She has held several important roles as a community leader and has a deep knowledge of her own culture and language.
		Ana Gaba es la hija de Amoa Gaba y Nay Caiga. Está casada con Moipa Nihua y tiene cuatro hijos. Ella creció en Toñampare pero ahora vive en Yawepare. Ella es fluida y alfabetizada tanto en wao terero como en español. Ha desempeñado varios papeles importantes como líder de la comunidad y tiene un profundo conocimiento de su propia cultura y lenguaje.
		Kireya Nihua nació en Puyo, pero actualmente vive en Yawepare. Ella es la hija de Ana Gaba y Nihua Moipa y es la hermana de Wanogi y Nihua Wita. Ella es una estudiante de primaria en la escuela Fiscal Omateña. Waorani es su lengua materna, sino que también habla español.
		Kireya Nihua was born in Puyo, but she now lives in Yawepare. She is the daughter of Ana Gaba and Moipa Nihua and is the sister of Wanogi and Wita Nihua. She is an elementary student in the Fiscal Omateña school. Waorani is her maternal language, but she also speaks Spanish.

		Wanogi Nihua was born in Shell, but currently lives in Yawepare. He is the son of Ana Gaba and Moipa Nihua and the brother of Kireya and Wita Nihua. He is an elementary student at the Fiscal Omateña school. Waorani is his native language but he also speaks Spanish.
		Wiña presently lives in Yawepare. She was orphaned at a young age when the colonists killed her father and was taken in by other Waorani. She was a witness to many of the important events that occured with the arrival of the colonists and the missionaries. She is very knowledgeable concerning wao culture and wao arts. Wao Terero is her first and dominant language.
		Wiña vive actualmente en Yawepare. Quedó huérfana a una edad temprana cuando los colonos mataron a su padre y fue criado por otros waorani. Ella fue testigo de muchos de los eventos importantes que ocurrieron con la llegada de los colonos y los misioneros. Ella está muy bien informada sobre la cultura wao y las artes wao. Wao Terero es su primer y dominante idioma.
		Wita Nihua Gaba is the daughter of Ana Gaba Caiga and Moipa Nihua and the sister of Kireya and Wanogi Nihua.
