Description:		This project is a part of PhD dissertation fieldwork, supported by the Endangered Languages Documentation Programme (IGS00166). The dissertation itself will focus on evidentiality in the language, but the documentation aims to encompass as broad a set of linguistic and cultural practices as possible. Most interviews were carried out by native Kichwa researchers, and are therefore monolingual in Kichwa. The topics addressed cover the recent history of the Amazonian Kichwa, folktales, everyday life and ceremonies.
		Very positive interview, especially given I was in a really lame mood just before, and we didn't bring either meat or fish for cooking, which as it turned out, Nilo said we would. Nonetheless, Maria, whom I met before, was super-nice, and Wilma, despite this being her first interview, did a good job. Jacobo was also keen to help with the camera, and I realised Nilo didn't really teach him much, so that's coming up in our training calendar. The cooking ended up very naturally with a family dinner on the floor, which I though was just spectacular. The atmosphere was really nice, and Maria - very natural. It will be tricky to transcribe, as they were moving around a lot, and Wilma didn't have a mic on, so I had to rely on the shotgun to pick her up. We did bits and pieces of filming and monitoring in turns with Jacobo. Looking forward to processing and looking through this session - this is the first one in this corpus with two women engaged in a lengthy conversation. Before we started, I asked Wilma to try and direct the questions in a way which would give us something reasonably close to a "how-to-make" text, and I know she tried, but not sure how successfully. The leitmotif of "ñawpa uras" was coming back every now and then. On another note, this was a very Kichwa-dominated household, which was very nice - Maria actually did speak Kichwa to even the little children. I'm not sure what her young daugthers-in-law do, as they didn't speak much at all. The kids also didn't speak back much, but I seem to remember now (2 days after) that I didn't hear them speak Spanish - but this might be because I didn't hear them speak at all. Camera: CanonXA10, microphones: Rode NTG2, Sony URX-P2 wireless lavalier There was an issue with the frequency of the wireless mic, some metalic noise whenever someone spoke louder -this got worse in the interview we've done the next day (in_21092013, at the time of the first upload of this bundle not uploaded yet)
