Description:The Elena tells the story of her grandfather. Her entire family lived in Cocoya and they were the Sionas. Her great-grandfather and grandfather lived there as well. A woman together with her sister decided to marry one man to be safe and have a pròsperous life. However, when the Secoya people have arrived from Peru, everything has changed. They began to attack and to kill the Sionas. They were shamans and they killed also girl’s great-grandfather. Her grandfather – Tañë, managed to escape. Secoya people kidnapped also young women. Later, two children were born at the cemetery in Napo. At the same time, the flu epidemy prevailed. A shaman was also infected, but he desperately did not want to die. Unfortunately, he died and the woman who was with him despite the fact that she wanted to bring him back to life, she decided to bury him. Then, the three Kichwa people came to bury him, it turned out that he was still alive. The shaman blamed the woman for burrying him so quickly. At the end, the girl tells the story about her grandparents’ fate who lived in Aguarico and how the Cocoya people were born.
Elena is the main speaker and Balvina and Ernestina ask questions. Martine recorded this narrative, Benito transcribed it, and Marta corrected the spelling of the translation.
