Title:How I met your father
Documenting Ecuadorian Siona Linguistic Variation: The collection and annotation of a sociolinguistically and culturally informed video corpus.

Description:Eva tells the story of how she met her husband to her daughter. She talks about the arrival of missionaries, how she was asked to marry her husband, how she learned Siona and how Spanish was introduced in the Cuyabeno area.
Eva is the main speaker and her daughter Gladis asks her questions. Maritza, another one of Eva's daughters, transcribed the recording. Martine filmed, edited and deposited this transcription.
Eva Merino was born in Puerto Espina, Putumayo, Colombia to Columbian Siona parents. She had relatives in the Cuyabeno area and she met her husband Rogelio Criollo, when she was visiting them. Eva grew up speaking Spanish and learned Siona when she got married around the age of 17. Her children are Irma Criollo, Wilian Criollo, Gladis Criollo, Maritza Criollo, Witman Criollo and Rodolfo Criollo.
Gladis was born and still lives with her family in Puerto Bolívar. She grew uo speaking both Siona and Spanish. She was a bilingual school teacher for a long time.
Maritza was born in Puerto Bolívar. She lives in Lago Agrio for work, but still regularly visits her house in Puerto Bolívar. She is Rogelio Criollo's and Eva Merino's daughter and Irma's, Wilian's, Gladis', Alicia's and Rodolfo's sister. She grew up mainly speaking Spanish, but had access to Siona through her grandparents. She started speaking Siona for her studies in bilingual education.
Martine started working with the Ecuadorian Siona in June 2010 when she was a PhD student.
