Description:This is the continuation of the traditional story about Jetupicoro that Rogelio tells to his daughter Gladys. It is a story about the search to go back home of the two wives of an anthropomorphic bird called Jetipicoro. The story explains the origin of certain animals, such as the dragon fly.
Rogelio is the main speaker and his daughter Gladis asks him questions . Maritza, another one of Rogelio daughter's, transcribed the recording. Martine filmed, edited and deposited this transcription.
Rogelio was born in Puerto Bolivar, where he still lives with his wife Eva Merino. They have 6 children: Irma, Wilian, Gladis, Maritza, Witman, Alicia y Rodolfo. Rogelio is Ligia's older brother.
Gladis was born and still lives with her family in Puerto Bolívar. She grew uo speaking both Siona and Spanish. She was a bilingual school teacher for a long time.
Maritza was born in Puerto Bolívar. She lives in Lago Agrio for work, but still regularly visits her house in Puerto Bolívar. She is Rogelio Criollo's and Eva Merino's daughter and Irma's, Wilian's, Gladis', Alicia's and Rodolfo's sister. She grew up mainly speaking Spanish, but had access to Siona through her grandparents. She started speaking Siona for her studies in bilingual education.
Martine started working with the Ecuadorian Siona in June 2010 when she was a PhD student.
