Title:Lɔga Kɛna Kama - Workbook
Alternative Title:The Issue of Fruit Trees workbook
Contributor (illustrator):Belachew, Mammo
Date (W3CDTF):2008
Description:This booklet is a workbook that goes with the booklet on fruit tree planting by the same title. Fruit trees are still not widely known in the Suri language area. They were first introduced to the area about 15 years. The fruits are liked but the area is dry, so that initially the trees need a lot of care in planting, watering and watching. The semi-nomadic lifestyle make cultivating fruittrees harder too, but can be a valueable nutrition supplement during the annual hunger times. In some places bananas are starting to be used as cash crops. The 3rd grade literacy students have been involved in fruit tree planting for the last 6 years. This workbook contains comprehension questions, drawing tasks, questions on the make-up of the textbook ( content, authors, where to find what..) and open questions as to personal likes and experience and implications drawn from the information given in the book.
