Description:Story (Koitabu) 12-12.45 -- Prophet Song (Koitabu) 12.45-1.45 -- Poreporena (Motu) 1.45-2.20 -- Prophet song (Koitabu) 2.25-3.05. Materials collected by Sandra Warwick-Smith c. 1964. . Language as given: Koita, Motu
Format:Digitised: yes Media: BASF LGS 35 RtoR 270m Audio Notes: Files A, B & C. -- Files A & B are 96kHz 24bit. -- File C is 48kHz 24bit. -- A) 3 3/4ips. Levels vary greatly & unexpectedly eg. 19.45 then 20.00 - tried to adjust gain during ingest until 14.30 - some minor Studer analogue peaking / noise floor hiss difficult to avoid, eg. at 30.00 mic pad appears to be switched off mid-sentence. Would benefit from volume graphing or compression (& dehiss). Poor treble response, some flutter eg. 25.35, 26.15. Tape was stored tail-out - good. -- B) 3 3/4ips. Levels vary. -- C) 15/16ips. Dropped to 48kHz & pitch-shifted -1octave - very poor sound quality. Quantisation noise / squeal at about 10kHz. Recorder motor hum. Levels vary. Some test material. Flutter. -- A) 3 3/4ips - from side A (96kHz 24bit) -- 0.00 -- 2.31 -- 6.21 -- 8.28 -- 11.02 -- 12.41 -- 14.09 -- 16.36 -- 19.01 -- 20.46 -- 22.17 -- 24.39 -- 28.08 -- 29.58 -- 31.26 -- 33.01 -- 34.21 -- 37.39 -- 40.15 -- 42.51 -- 44.35 -- 45.05 -- 47.26 -- 47.44 -- 48.00 -- 48.42 end -- B) 3 3/4ips - from side B (96kHz 24bit) -- 0.00 -- 2.43 -- 5.14 -- 7.10 -- 10.30 -- 12.08 end -- C) 15/16ips - from side B cont (48kHz 24bit) -- some quantisation noise around 10-12kHz.. -- It may be desirable to reingest these when a 15/16ips machine is available again. -- 0.00 -- 3.54 -- 4.44 -- 5.23 -- 6.02 -- 9.26 -- 11.45 -- 15.39 -- 18.56 -- 24.14 -- 28.05 -- 31.14 end
