Description:Apato makes a thumb piano in the village center of Ngolo. He is surrounded by other villagers such as his gandmother Nandtoungou, Kunda who is leaning on the big drum, and the other men who are still hanging out with the musical instruments they used earlier that day for a spontaneous dance party. Ntemba cuts some flexible wooden sticks that serve as the keys for the thumb piano while Apato attaches them to a wooden board, fastening them with fibers that he weaves through the holes he had poked into the wooden board, As he is working, he explains what he is doing. Bepa then explains the different utensils such as buckets and pots that he uses as drums. Apato first attaches all the "keys" on one half, working his way from outside to the middle and then starts the second half on the other side, working his way towards the middle again. Mangome is sitting next to him, singing and clapping.
