Description:Recorded for Kalkaringi Community Education Centre (primary and middle school) Gurindji program organised by DAC (Diwurruwurru-jaru Aboriginal Corporation) A man reurns from a day out hunting with injuries to his body. His two wives (a young one and an older one) are very worried about him. He tells a story about a fight with another member of the community. The same this happens over several days, but in fact it is the man who is inflicting the injuries on himself. The older wife detects that something is amiss and with the younger one, secretly follows him one day. They see him standing in a clearing throwing weapons in a way to make them return and injure him. The women are horrified and run out screaming at him. He is ashamed, turns into a Warli bird (like a kite, but white) and flies away.
