Description:In this session the consultant explains the word "kuea meita'i" which is a South Marquesan expression (not existing as such in North Marquesan). It refers to a cutting technique (-> squarely cut) of red tufa apparently originating from the South Marquesas. However, a number of squarly cut stones on historical sites can be seen in the North Marquesas. The word "kuea" is used in the legend of Teiki Nono (see link).
