Description:In this session there are two videos made in the same day, where we elicit phrases "to use in the car", that is to say, communicative phrases that are usually used while driving or traveling by car, such as "fasten your belt" or "they almost crush on us". The videos were shot in the car, of course. The tour we made is, on purpose, from the house of Dora Manchado to her work, the place where the meetings with the community to teach the language take place, in the Modalidad de Educación Bilingüe del Consejo Provincial de Educación de la Provincia de Santa Cruz. The recording was made around two o'clock in the afternoon, after having lunch. In this particular occasion, we take a little longer tour, to be able to look a bit closer at the town center, to read some of the street signs - some written in supposed Tehuelche, and to eat a dessert looking at the river. Maggie Sood was about to leave, and that's why there are some comments about it. As for the use of the language, it can be seen that it is extremely fluid and spontaneous.
Dora Manchado was regarded as the 'last speaker' of her language.
Nicolas Duval, BAC student on Anhtropology, Université de Montréal. He collaborated with the fieldwork, especially with filming and archiving, and much more.
Maggie Sood, MA in Documentary Linguistics, was a co-researcher in this project. She had already visited the community and worked with Dora Manchado in 2017, and had quickly gained her confidence.
