| Description: | This is an audio-recording of a narrative from Julio López Pérez where he narrates how they organize for the Fiesta the San Miguel. He says that there is a “cofradía” (a group of people in charge of planning the festivals) in charge of everything. They request money to the community, and everybody gives them some amount. With that money, they embellish the church, they buy food and drinks for everybody. They also invite the priest to bless the Saint San Miguel. Julio also says that they go to a procession to Huixtla (a neighboring town). He talks about what kind of food they offer each day of the festivity because it takes three days. He talks also about his son in law, and the problems he had with the law. He gets back to the festivity, and he talks about the “chicha” a traditional drink that is made with cane juice and corn. He says that he does not forget what his ancestors used to do in the festival, but he says that nowadays is not the same. | |
