| Description: | This session is part one of two recodings in which Mr. Galibo Mulu, a farmer and an experienced housebuilder (doing the latter work for payment, unlike many others in Zargulla area), tells about the process of building his own house. He describes how wood, grass and otehr material for house construction are acquired. The recording was done in the house of Mr Galibo, in the presence of his family. The recording was made by research assistants Mr. Abboy Alade and Mr. Asmelash Michael using their telephone as a recorder. The two were in an unplanned visit to the house of Mr Galibo. The researcher (Azeb) was not presnt during the recording. The quality of the recording is not bad and the content of the session intersting but not much repeated in subsequent planned visit the researcher made to Mr. Galibo. For this reason, it is decided to include the sessions in the archive. Initial transcription of the file was first made by Wudnesh Petros on paper. Then Sintayehu Semu made another transcription on computer using the IPA and he made English translation. Azeb updated the translation with the help of research assistants and applied corrections to the transcription. | |
