Description:Yampisa Shotka tells a well-known Kandozi-Chapra origin myth. The story relates how a mysterious boy appeared and was adopted by a villager. The boy was very successful at fishing, and the other villagers got jealous and attacked him. The boy left forever but first warned his adopted family that a flood would come. The flood came and only one young man survived. After the flood receded he married a parrot and they became the progenitors of all the races. The accompanying audio file includes a translation into Spanish by Jorge Bisa, and this is transcribed and translated in the ELAN file. The Chapra version of the recording has not yet been transcribed. Two photos of Yampisa Shotka taken during the recording session are included.
