Description: | The origin story of Albert Tobyul's family. His forefather was a Vanuatu green lisard who bore many human children. These children are the Wunu 'foolish people' of which there are many stories in this deposit. The Wunu try and pull a huge stone uphill to become a slit-drum, but the rope broke and crushed those who were pushing from behind. Only one man was left alive who was Alber'ts forefather. The story continues into the story of when Captain Cook was said to have visited Ambrym. The name Ambrym is said to come from a mispronounciation of am rrem 'your yam'. It was the daughter of the last Wunu who married a man from Fanla and gave birth to the man who gave the yams to Captain Cook. This man was the father of Tain Mal, the great chief of Fanla.
