Description:The Pear Story was watched by Siratjudin and told to Usman. Siratjudin watched the Pear Story on a laptop, then told the story to Usman who did not watch it. Usman then repeated the story back to Siratjudin after it was told to him by Siratjudin. Bradley McDonnell and Anton Supriyadi were also present at the recording. Bradley McDonnell gave directions on this task in Besemah. The recording took place in Anton Supriyadi's living room. Video recorded on Canon XA-30 with an external NTG2 shotgun microphone, audio recorded in two ways: (i) Tascam DR-60 with an Audio Technica Stereo Microphone and (ii) Marantz PMD-561 with two SM-35 headset microphone. The original audio and vidoe recordings were edited in Adobe Premiere and trimmed slightly so that each recording is exactly the same length of time. Video was exported from Adobe Premiere as an mp4 file (Codecs: H.264, ACC; Dimensions: 1920 × 1080). A web enabled version of the video was created using Handbrake. The mp4 file (Codecs: H.264, ACC; Dimensions: 1920 × 1080) was exported as an web enabled mp4 file (Codecs: H.264, ACC; Dimensions 960 × 540). The two stereo audio recordings were exported as uncompressed wav files (16 bit, 48kHz).
Anton is Bradley McDonnell's main contact in the village. McDonnell lived with Anton while staying in the Nasal villages. Anton is from Bintuhan, Kaur, Bengkulu, and both of his parents are Kaur from the same town. Anton was born in Bintuhan, but moved to Bengkulu city in 1997 to go to Bengkulu University. He graduated in 2006 and moved to Tanjung Betuah, Nasal, Bengkulu in 2007 when he married his wife, Yeniafrida, who is originally from Tanjung Betuah.
Bradley McDonnell is an Assistant Professor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is originally from the USA.
Usman was born in the Nasal village of Gedung Menung, and moved to various cities for work. These include Bengkulu (2000-2001), Bekasi (2005-2007), and Jakarta (2009-2016). His mother is Kaur from the village of Ulak Pandan, and his father is Nasal from the village of Gedung Menung.
Sirat was born in the Nasal village of Gedung Menung, and moved to various cities for work. These include Jambi (2000-2001, 2007-2009), Bekasi (2007),Bengkulu (2004-2005), and Jakarta (2016-2017). His mother is Nasal from the village of Gedung Menung, and his father is Nasal from the village of Tanjung Betuah.
