Description:Recording of sand story with Rosie Pwerl. Girls are behind a windbreak with a fire. They have anaty ‘bush potatoes’ and arlatyey ‘pencil yams’ in their dishes. Two of the girls are resting and another comes hungrily looking for food. They all set off hunting, looking for bush potaotes. They test the ground by stabbing it with their diggings sticks. They find the yams, dig them up, light fires, sit down and cook them. They also find arlewatyerr ‘goannas’ and amwely ‘Cadney lizards’. They lie down to sleep at the windbreak using their wooden dishes as pillows.
