Title:A Brief Grammar of the Diizin Language
Abstract:This brief grammar was developed and written during a workshop held from September 21 through October 2, 2010 in Mizan Teferi. The purpose of this book is to make the Diizi community aware of the wealth and variation it inherited with the Diizin language. The language possesses an intricate system of forms and rules, which all speakers use in their daily lives, often without being consciously aware of them. Many of these forms and rules are presented in this little book. It also needs to be pointed out that the purpose of this book is not to present a full and comprehensive description of the Diizin language. This would be beyond the scope of this work, and it would require a different approach to the language. Many forms of the Diizin language are not even mentioned in here, and some areas of the Diizin grammar have been omitted from this work. Also this book attempts to use terminology which is understandable by a wide audience. The hope is even that it can be translated into the Diizin language to make it fully accessible to all Diizin speakers. Therefore this book will disappoint everybody who wants to see a description of Diizin according to the latest linguistic models and terminology.
