Description:Tape side A: Wordlist recordings. Recorded at the Goroka Teacher's College, Dept of Language Studies. Both speakers are from Matukar and speak the Matukar language. Wordlist A. 1st speaker (F) Name: Nagod Wadau, language Matu, (original name of the Matukar language). Matukar is the name of the village. Matu is the word for elder or chief. "gar" is a fern with branches. The place (Matukar) has this particular fern all over. The recordist (F) is from the Goroka Teacher's college, which is now the university of Garoka. 6.20 end of wordlist A with first speaker. Wordlist B begins at 6.25. The recordist is the same. The 2nd speaker (M) is Rara Didei (he is a police officer now in Matukar). The wordlist recording goes until the end of the track.
