During former times, the Lochhang people used to purchase slaves for the purpose of sacrifice. This was done for the purpose of ensuring good health, and fruitful production of crops, these slaves had to be sacrificed di²ta¹ is the name of the sacrifice/ ta¹ means cutting and di² means slave, captive. During that time, all the nearby villages were informed that human sacrifice would be performed. From there they would come, and on that particular day on which the sacrifice was to be done. They would be informed by means of this rau¹sat¹, which is the rope with tied portions that sends a message. If the sacrifice would be performed after 4 days, for example, 4 knots would be tied.
