Description:When the group of informants who went out harvesting cockles (Mud Ark Clam - Anadara antiquata) in the waters of Mission Bay, had collected enough shellfish for a good meal, they lit a fire at the beach and boiled the cockles in flour drums filled with fresh water. After they had eaten part of their catch, they shelled the rest and took them home.
