		Part of an article published in 1881 in the 'Zeitschrift für Ethnologie XIII, 135-138' by Danish physician dr. Erik Pontoppidan, containing Negerhollands proverbs with German translation, and an informal conversation in Negerhollands. Pontoppidan recorded (in writing) the proverbs and the conversation from speakers of Negerhollands on St. Thomas (Van Rossem & Van der voort 1996: 231). Pontoppidan's article also contained the 14th chapter of Matthew, taken from Magens (1781), which is present in the NEHOL database as PONTOPPI_Evangelium.
		The language variety of the proverbs and the conversation seems to be basilectal Negerhollands.
		A Danish physician who lived on St. Thomas (Van Rossem & Van der Voort (eds) 1996: 231). He did not have any knowledge of Dutch (Hesseling 1905: 40).
