| Description: | July 13 2005. Kpââp:aa village, 5.30 pm. Village mediation between Ephraim Daamyuwo and his wife Mary Ellen, D of Woyipa. Ephraim called the meeting, on the grounds that he had moved to the village from Abeleti so that his wife could look after Woyipa, but instead of doing that she was galavanting around in the United Church woman’s association – Woyipa (c. 85!) was sometimes not fed till after dark by Ephraim coming home late. Max Mgaa as village mediator, Michael Camillus, Mika, Ian Tadpuwo and most of Cheme. Mary Ellen haranged extensively, but supported by the leader of the United woman’s association. Much detail leaks: childless couple, Woyipa’s two sons Douglas and Peter are quarreling, etc. Meeting ended 6.30 by joining hands and making friends again. Max had suggested that Ian (uncle of Mary Ellen) pay a ndap to Ephraim, but he refused, saying he only wanted to look after Woyipa. Filmed in very low light – first 15 mins OK, then either the lens fogged or the camera couldn’t cope with the low light conditions. Sound good. | |
