| Description: | Wédidmyinênyedê Meeting I: Land problem. Two brothers, married in, are the cause of the problem, since they have started gardening on land claimed by John Wéni et al. It happened like this: William, half-brother of Mark Nkêm and John Wéni, invited his 2 sons in law (the surviving one is Kââlum) to garden on his ancestral land, without consulting his brothers. The resentment of the brothers was felt sufficiently to make Kââlum fear JohnWéni was sorcerizing him, hence accusations of sorcery. The area in question is known as Viyó Mbwópâ yi tââ, the bush belongs to Viyó and brothers, their ancestors. In the end the comnpromise was reached that the son in law could continue to garden there, but could only plant rots, no trees or palms - thereby ensuring no continuous use for their sons. | |
