Description:Traditional Lizu story about a Tibetan prince, the king of the Lizu people, who married a daughter of the Chinese emperor. Tibetans fight a successful war with the Chinese, led by the Tibetan prince (Man Wang), and rapidly advance towards Peking. The Chinese wife of the prince remains loyal to her family and finds a way to inform her relatives of the weaknesses of her husband (the root of his life is hidden in the mountains of Mianning). The Tibetan prince perishes in the hand of the Chinese. After the death of the prince, the once glorious Lizu people reduce to scattered tribes. The story was originally recorded in 2011 and narrated by Wang Xuecai (王学才), the main Lizu language consultant of the ELDP project MPD0257. Chirkova re-recorded the story with the same language consultant and translated and analyzed it with his help in December 2014.
