Description:In the past, Man and Dog lived together as father and son. A coconut tree grew near the place where they lived. One day, the man told the dog to look after the coconut tree while he was away in the bush. A stranger came and climbed the coconut tree. When he was halfway up, the dog told him that the tree belonged to his father. The man came down, but he could not see who had spoken. The same thing happened again and then the stranger went back to his own place. When the dog's father came back, the dog told him what had happened. The next day, the man went into the bush again, leaving the dog to look after the coconut tree. The other man came and climbed the tree, and again the dog told him that the tree belong to his father. The man climbed down, and wondered who had spoken to him. Was it a man or a devil? The same thing happened again. This time, the man scattered ashes around the house. When he came down from the tree the next time, he saw the dog's footprints and realised what was happening. He beat the dog so badly that the dog could no longer speak.
