| Description: | This is one in a series of video files recorded at a place called adzan, where an oil mill belonging to the AgbwegbON quarter is located. Here a group of boys and young adults is led by Mr. Francis in a staged performance of oil pressing (being November, there were no palm nuts available to be actually pressed). The recording includes the whole process of pressing palm nuts, "washing chaffs" and skimming oil. The main Ajumbu "mbanga song" (i.e. work song sung during palm nut pounding) is performed.Towards the end of the recording, Jude illustrates parts and names of the special rope used to climb on plam trees. | |
