Description:An unidentified man who sleeps with a woman by visiting her in her hammock is eventually identified by her when she paints his face with a black paint (huito). The next day she sees who he is when all the men are going off to raid an enemy people. She curses him because he is her parallel cousin, a relationship that is considered incestuous. The man gets killed by the enemies and his head gets severed but the head comes to life after it is rescued by his brother but gradually scares his brother as it over demands water and fruit. The head moves on its own and even across rivers by paddling with its ears. The brother warns his family of the heads imminent arrival and they all fortify their houses. The head is ignored by his family, only his mother relents slightly and gives him chicha to drink but doesn't allow him in the house. Eventually the head is given some cotton thread which it throws up into the sky and climbs up and becomes the moon. The black marks on the moons face represent the places where he was painted by his sister.
