| Description: | Lucy continues her story of how the eBario project got started and brought the internet, telephones and better telecommunications to Bario. In this recording, Lucy recalls how they were first connected to the internet on 11th September 2001, only to discover about the events in America that same day. She then describes the launch ceremony that was held in Bario for the eBario project and attended by government ministers and other important people. She also describes how shortly after launching eBario, she was invited to Washington DC, along with her neice, Dr Poline Bala, to receive an award for the project on behalf of UNIMAS. Finally, she reflects on the advantages that the eBario project has brought about for the children at the Secondary School in Bario and how they are no longer left behind in terms of their technology skills.
