| Description: | This is a text describing the traditional practice of hunting wild animals, in particular the deer, by the Rongga people. It describes the techniques in team-hunting and in when and how to spear the animal which is running. It also describes the tradition how the meat of the hunted animal is cut into pieces and distributed among the hunters. This session about traditional hunting by the Rongga people was reported by Mr. Anton Gelang, in the afternoon, in Sere, in a slightly windy condition. Indonesian Ceritera ini tentang kebiasaan berburu di rongga, terutama berburu rusa. Teks ini menjelaskan bagaiama teknik berburu secara berkolompok dan teknik melepaskan tombak ke arah rusa yang sedang lari. Juga dijelaskan tradisi bagaimana daging buruan dibagi-bagi oleh para pemburu. Text ini menceriterakan tentang kebiasaan berburu di Rongga, diceriterakan oleh Bapak Anton Gelang, direkam siang hari di sere dalam kondisi ada angin agak kencang. | |
| The project aims to set up a comprehensive archive of the Rongga language and culture as a resource tool containing the core data and references on which further studies, analyses, and practical language-community programs may be based. A variety of data as part of the archive has been collected. It includes audio and visual recordings (digitised), (ethnographic) notes based on interviews and observations, as well as anthropological or linguistic descriptions. At the conclusion of the project, a grammar and a basic dictionary will be already completed. | ||
| Frans Seda is one of young educated Rongga speakers, who is fluent in Rongga, and other neighbouring languages, and also speaks Indonesian (of course), as well as English. | ||
