Description:Angela Poloka tells a story that junior wanted to tell, but he could not tell it in tok ples, so she told it instead. A true story from her mother's place (Kumuli island) about a couple who killed a pig that had destroyed their garden. Recorded in Mary Luweh's haus kuk with Angela Poloka facing away from the airport, beach to her right and road to her left. Rosemary Paura also present to right of camera. There is some electronic interference at the beginning of the recording.
Koro is an Oceanic (Austronesian) language spoken by several hundred people on Manus and Los Negros islands, approximately 200 miles off the north coast of the Papua New Guinea mainland. This documentation consists primarily of recorded narratives and conversations in the Papitalai dialect, spoken in Papitalai, Riu Riu, and Naringel villages.
