Description: | Ros Njveni invited me to come to her part of the village and record the morning goings-on there. She cooks and then sits in her wind house as her husband James, the children, and others mill about. Dominika stops by at one point on her way to harvesting sago, and she and Ros discuss relations with the (foreign) Rao-speaking community of Kuvru settlement, just a half hour walk west of Rumtu as well as the other Rao settlement farther west, Siruto. They complain about the messy fishing practices of the Rao as well as a number of specific grievances against them and the extent of resolution of problems with those groups. Total audiovisual duration [1h]. | |
