Description:Two Teleut speakers Anna Tadykova and Zoya Mazhina talk about traditional Teleut fetish dolls called "Eemegender" which were made of cloth and buttons and were transmitted down the generation from mother to daughter. Those were the keepers of the house and guardians of people's wealth and foortune. The speakers remember how their mothers gave them those dolls and now they keep them in their houses but cannot pass them down to their children, because the rituals have been forgotten and the children lost their languages, so they cannot perform the rite of feeding those dolls with special food. They also remember other ritual called "alas" - a healing procedure of shamanistic nature, but also almost completely forgotten.
