| Description: | Filmed over a number of days, this short film follows Om Buang Pangemanan and a number of other workers as they construct one part of the set of musical instruments known as 'kolintang'. All steps in the process are documented, from chopping down the tree for the wood to cutting, planing, sanding, and putting together the separate parts of the kolintang. Video recorded using both a Canon Legria HF R606 (wide shot) and a Canon Legria HF R706 (close up shots). MTS format has been converted to MP4 using Handbrake. Included in this bundle is the .wav file of the narration in the Tonsawang language. The transcription and translation used for this narration is located in bundle TNW_73_JP_24072018. | |

| Om Buang Pangemanan is a carpenter who was born in Minahasa Tenggara but whose parents gave me up due to childhood sickness. He grew up in Minahasa district, North Sulawesi. He is one of the few remaining people who are able to craft the 'kolintang' musical instrument. | ||
