Description:This is a narrative audio recording in which Gabriel Domaka tells a funny story about a man who always mixes up his words. In the story, a man believes that deer are eating the food in his garden. So, he goes to the school teacher to ask if he can borrow a flashlight. The school teacher obliges, and he takes the flashlight to the garden at night. When he goes in the garden, he finds deer eating his bananas, but before he can shoot them, they escape. He goes back to the school teacher to return the flashlight. When the school teacher asks him what happened, he relies hilariously that, "The bananas were eating my deer!" The recording was made at the residence of Wendy Maiki. Transcription, translation, and discussion of individual word glosses were done by hand in a field notebook, and later entered into ELAN.
