Description:This is a narrative audio recording in which Rawi Ganai tells a story about a man who had a close encounter with a snake. In the story, the man is sleeping when a snake crawls into his shirt and settles up against his body for warmth. When he wakes up, he can feel the snake, and he fears that it is a dangerous, venomous one. He calls to his wife to get a knife. She brings one, and she uses it to cut his clothing off very carefully. Throughout this process, he is extremely worried that the snake will bite him, and he urges his wife to proceed slowly and carefully. Finally, he is able to get the shirt off, and he quickly rids himself of the snake. The recording was made at the residence of Wendy Maiki.
