Description:This is a video recording of a traditional dance performed by elders of the community. This performance was part of the national Independence Day celebration held by the village, the biggest annual holiday celebration. This particular dance is a traditional one about the importance of fishing to the culture and lifestyle. In particular, the dance choreography imitates the act of swinging a fishing net through the water with one's arms. This recording was made on the rugby field in the northwest part of Upiara village.
