Description: | This session contains a short discription about a worship of Gorakhnath tample. Sabal Singh who is a fluent native speaker of Baram language has told this session in Gorkha district of Nepal.
This project aims to document Baram, a seriously endangered language of Nepal, for its preservation and promotion. For this purpose, we will develop a corpus of the various texts of the Baram language and thereby prepare resources such as its sketch grammar, lexicon and ethnographic profile. To revitalize the language, we will develop Baram orthography and prepare a Baram primer to facilitate its use in basic education and literacy programmes. The audio-video recordings of the Baram database will be archived with its annotation in a website for its accessibility to linguists, ethnographers and the Baram speech community.
In this session Sabal Singh has described the Gorakhnath temple of Gorkha district. The worship is performed and a special bread is normally offered to the Gorakhnath. Some people also bring local fowl and somebody take goats and he-buffalos. The people line up in a queue for the worship. The saints also arranged everything there. After doing greeting it becomes almost finished. If it was early, the people used to arrive sometimes at eight o'clock and sometimes at nine o'clock to the home.
