Description:Personal history and historical events. Recorded between March and April 2005.
Tubale Okuma is the oldest Bogoŋ-speaking man, seniored only by his own sister Mbadoŋ. In 2007 he claimed to be more than hundred years old. According to my own estimate, he is most likely a few years younger than that (this is based on the facts that Tubaale Okuma is the third child to his mother, and the last born from the same mother was born around 1939). He is an extremely knowledgeable person, a herbalist and - until a few years ago - one of the most senior priests in the traditional religion. His father was in his old age the Chief Priest. In 2006 he converted to Islam. He is the older brother of Nana Kwame Awiagah, Chief Priest of Bogoŋ.
Also known as Nana Okonte. Former assistant of Dr Ulrich Kleinewillinghöfer and sub chief in Agou (Chief of Kabiti). He is also a senior member of a local African Church.
The son of Nana Kwame Awiagah (Chief Priest) and Akosia Daare
