Description:This story was recorded by Elena Kalinina and Ol'ga Birjuk from Anna Porfir’evna Nadeina in August 2007. In 2017, Natalia Aralova transcribed this recording in ELAN and checked the transcription with Galina Ivanovna Kandakova, who provided the Russian translation. Natalia Aralova glossed it and checked the questions with G. I. Kandakova. This is the third part of a recording concerning traditional Negidal medicine (see. also “Traditional Negidal medicine // Традиционная негидальская медицина“ and “Grandmother’s dogs // Бабушкины собаки”). In this recording Anna Porfir’evna describes urine therapy and some medicinal plants which Negidals widely used in the past. // Этот текст был записан Е. Калининой и О. Бирюк от Анны Порфирьевны Надеиной в августе 2007 года. Это третья часть записи про традиционные способы лечения у негидальцев (см. тж. «Traditional Negidal medicine // Традиционная негидальская медицина» и «Grandmother’s dogs // Бабушкины собаки»). В этой записи Анна Порфирьевна рассказывает о лечении мочой и об использовании определенного лекарственного растения для лечения ран и ожогов.
This project focuses on the documentation of Negidal, a highly moribund Northern Tungusic language spoken by at most a handful of individuals on the Amgun’ and Lower Amur rivers in the Russian Federation. The language comprises two dialects, Upper and Lower Negidal, of which the latter might already be extinct. The project will result primarily in an extensive corpus of interlinearized texts from the Upper dialect together with accompanying audio recordings.
