Description:Frank talks about the historical importance of yams in Chini society. Until about 40 or 50 years ago, the Chini would plant extensive yam gardens and then harvest them all at once. Each yam would be decorated and the yams would all be piled up in yam houses where guard was kept over them for about two weeks. People from near and far would then be invited for a large celebration where they would eat lots of yams and the young people would run around and enjoy sex with each other, among other festivities.
