Amadoua acquired deafness at the age of 11 years. He was born in Mora. He studied primary school for 10 years; he spoke Fulfudi as his first language and written French. However,he didn't complete his studies in primary school due to his deafness. His parents and family lived in Mora. He is fluent in Extreme North Cameroon Sign Language. He knows little French and American sign language. While he communicates with Deaf adult community in Yaounde the captial of Cameroon, he switches codes to both American and French Sign Language (LSF).
