Contributor (author):David

Coverage:Russian Federation
Date:2017-05-11
Description:In one of their last trips to Chulym territory, Harrison and Anderson received support from the National Geographic’s Enduring Voices program, for which they produced this short field report, containing text and images. The introduction states, “This Enduring Voices expedition was devoted to documenting a nearly extinct language of central Siberia, called “Chulym” (also “Ös”). Chulym now has fewer than 10 fluent speakers. It lies within the Central Siberia Language Hotspot, contributing to the deep linguistic diversity and severe state of language endangerment of this high-priority hotspot.”
