Description:		Inspired by HJG1 and JOS1's daughter who was doing research on Jejuan nursery rhymes, SUK1 went to the Sinchon Eastern Elders' Centre to record IJO1 tell him an old nursery rhyme that is about a pheasant called 'Mr Jang'. Apparently, it is a nursery rhyme that was known all over Korea, with each region having their own version. They all have in common a theme, where one makes fun of the surname 'Jang', and their content is about a pheasant that is hunted by some man and flees into the mountains, building a safe home. The content itself is ecclectic, which apparently is due to the fact that the lyrics of this rhyme have partly been taken from other songs and religious prayers. The rhyme can be found in jeju0043-05. Linguistically, the pheasant rhyme is interesting, as it is not said in 'authentic Jejuan' in a sense that it does not use all the possible linguistic resources of this language, but rather, a lot of it is in Korean, with only a couple of forms being distinctly Jejuan. At the beginning of jeju0043-02, IJO1 shows a children's language game where one takes a word or a sentence, and after each syllable, one adds another made-up one which always begins with a [b], and has the same vowel as the preceding, original syllable of the word. This game is known by other speakers as well (HJG1, for example), and seems to be known in other parts of Korea, although SUK1's generation mostly did not come into contact with it. As IJO1's example is shown, it is also a sociolinguistic device to mask swear words. The rest of this session's files is an explanation of the content.
