Description:Herman sings two traditional Yerisiam songs. The first is sung during traditional ceremonies. The second is a sung after a victory in battle, accompanied by conch shell. After each song, Herman explains the nature of each song in Malay.
Herman is from the village of Erega in the Yamor Lakes. He has great knowledge of custom and tradition and has traveled widely. He natively speaks Yerisiam, Yamor Lakes Kamoro, and Papuan Malay. He also speaks some Ekagi is familiar with the vocabulary and basic grammar of Mairasi, Miere, various other languages.
