| Description: | Cristina Vázquez Hernández dice que el kwe:tehxiwit, una hierba de como un metro de alto, se da a orillas de caminos y en cafetales. Tiene hojas muy pequeñas y flores de color blanco. Al madurarse la flor sale las inflorescencias se doblan, quedando colgado su punto extremo por abajo de su base. Las hojas se usan para curar el dolor del estómago. Si el enfermo padece de calambres en el abdomen puede tomar un té de las hojas hervidas del kwe:tehxiwit. Si uno siente dolores en los pies, se le hacen vapores. Se corta un rollo de cada una de las siguientes tres hierbas, el kwe:tehxiwit, el tsonteposihya:k (Ocimum carnosum (Spreng.) Link & Otto ex Benth.) y el o:mekilit (Piper auritum Kunth.) y se hierven juntos. Cuando está hirviendo se saca la olla del fogón y se ponen unos palos sobre la boca de la olla de barro. Sobre estos palos el paciente pone sus pies para que le pegue el vapor. Se deben abrigar los pies bien para que así puedan sudar. Así se le quita el dolor. Este trato con vapor se debe hacer de tres a cuatro veces para que se cure. | |
