| Description: | Juan de los Santos Dionisio habla del tanokwilpahxiwit y describe su uso medicinal para curar dolor de muela. Para tal efecto las hojas se hierven y una vez hervidas el afectado enjuaga la boca con el agua lo más caliente que aguante. Trata de que llegue el agua a la muela dañada y se deja ahí por un buen rato. Si este preparado no hace efecto, entonces se juntan muchas hojas del tanokwilpahxiwit y se calientan sobre un comal puesto sobre la lumbre. Con las hojas calientes se hace masajes sobre el exterior de la mejilla, del lado donde está la muela afectada. Comenta que cuando esta planta no hace efecto, entonces el afectado debe acudir a un dentista para que la muela dañada sea arrancada. El tanokwilpahxiwit tiene flores amarillas, otras con tendencia a color blanco. Finalmente habla de otro remedio para el mal de boca, la savia de un árbol llamado eskowit (Croton draco Schltdl. & Cham.). | |
