Description:		It mostly contains lexemes/suffixes JKL (linguist) collected herself but also holds all items found in the literature. The majority of entries are Golpa, but there are also items from other Yolngu languages that were found in texts. There is a note in each entry which tells whether or not the word is Golpa. Most entries contain sample sentences and grammatical information. (JKL began to work on it in 2008.)
		The aim of the project is to produce an annotated and illustrated Golpa story book about the Golpa people, their land and culture. Golpa is a severely endangered YolNGu language (Yirritja moiety) spoken on Elcho Island, Northern Territory, Australia. Most stories in the book are part of a large collection of audio recordings made back in the 1960s. The narrator of these texts is the father of today's Golpa speakers/consultants. Until this project these texts have never been processed. There are only very few Golpa left who still speak and/or understand the language to a considerable extent. The processing of these recordings will reveal and document linguistic and cultural knowledge about a dying Australian indigenous group and make it accessible to the community as well as to researchers. This project is the first attempt to document and describe the Golpa language (and culture).
		Mostly it contains lexemes/suffixes she collected herself but also holds all items she had found in the literature. The majority of entries are Golpa, but there are also items from other YolNGu languages that were found in texts. There is a note in each entry which tells whether or not the word is Golpa. (If not the reader is referred to the YolNGu Matha dictionary.) Most entries contain sample sentences and grammatical information.
		Garrutju is a well educated lady who has a number of jobs (such as officially registered interpreter or as head of Marthakal Homelands Respurce Centre). She is a semi-speaker of Golpa and has contributed a lot to the lexicon.
		Muthali is the last fluent spekaer of Golpa and has contributed tremendously to the lexicon.
		Nyomba is a well educated lady who has a number of jobs (such as officially registered interpreter or as office staff at Centre Link). She is a semi-speaker of Golpa and also contributed to the lexicon. Unfortunately JKL couldn't spent as much time with her as she did with JGG and JBG.
		JKL has been in touch with the Golpa since 2008 via phone. They first met and worked together in 2009, then again in 2011 and 2012. She has spent a total of approx. 5 months in the field. JKL has carried out all field trips together with her little son (which resulted in wonderful social contacts with the locals and more natural work sessions).
		BS is a well known Australian linguist who has made significant contributions towards understanding and describing Australian indigeneous languages and concepts. Amongst other things he has written (and published) a number of papers on YolNGu languages. The Golpa recording collection was made under the umbrella of survey work on (North East) Arnhem Land languages in 1965 and 1966. This study was funded by AIAS (now AIATSIS).
		Apart from the meaning most entries contain at least one sample sentence and a number of grammatical information.
		This file is a .typ file and should be renamed from .txt to .typ in order to make it work.
		Around 120 entries are taken from Zorc, David (1986), YolNGu Matha Dictionary. Other information on Golpa were found in Schebeck, Bernhard (2001), “Dialect and social groupings in Northeast Arnhem Land.“ In: R.M.W. Dixon (ed.), LINCOM Studies in Australian Languages 07.
